Our Green Classroom
At Happy Together Preschool (htP), we are committed to the well-being of the planet and our bodies. When selecting all building materials, furniture and play equipment for our facility we use, as much as possible, sustainable and environmentally healthy products. This includes solid wood furniture with water-based finishes, cabinetry made from Forest Stewardship Council certified and urea formaldehyde-free plywood, a Marmoleum floor, and VOC-free paint.
We are also committed to the credo of: recycle, reduce, reuse. We strive to find previously-owned supplies, toys and furniture which are consistent with our values for beauty and safety, and a good fit for our space. We frequent stores such as the East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse, and websites like craig's list.
